For residential contractors

Your business phone, fixed.

No app. No new hardware. Nothing for your crew to learn. Your business number moves onto our system — it stays yours — and finally works the way it should have all along.

Talk to us Founding customers · we're taking four

Sound familiar

Four things that happen
to you every week.

  1. You're under a sink with both hands full and the phone rings. By the time you get to it, it's stopped.
  2. You're already on a call and somebody's beeping in behind them. The third person to ring hears your carrier say you're unavailable — and calls the next guy on the list.
  3. A tech texted a customer from his own phone to say he was running late. Reasonable. Except now that customer has his number, not yours. When he leaves, so do they.
  4. Somebody calls at nine at night with a burst pipe and gets a voicemail greeting you recorded two Christmases ago.
…and it keeps going. This is four at a time out of a much longer list.

None of that is a you problem. It's a phone problem.

You've got a business running through a phone designed for one person to take one call at a time. We're not going to tell you what missed calls cost you — you know your business, and half the numbers floating around are made up by people selling answering services. We'll just make the phone work properly.

Phone system

Your business number, answered properly, ringing the phones your crew already carries. Hours, greeting, who rings, voicemail as a text, two-way texting on the same number.

Somebody picks up on the second ring, day or night. It just isn't a person. It works out what's going on, gets the address, and texts you the summary — and anything that sounds dangerous rings your cell with no robot in the middle.

How it works

Your business number moves onto our system. When someone calls it, we answer first — greeting, hours, whoever should be ringing — then we ring your phone. Your actual phone. The one in your pocket right now.

There is no app.

Your guys don't download anything, don't log in, don't learn anything. Their phone rings, they answer it, it's a customer. Everyone else in this business makes your crew carry an app that is the phone — so calls come in over the internet, and drop in the crawlspaces, attics and mechanical rooms where your guys actually spend the day. Ours rings a normal number over a normal cell network. If his phone works, we work.

And one thing we won't touch

Because there's no dialling app on your tech's phone, 911 from that handset stays exactly what it is today — a normal cell call with his location, routed by his carrier. We're not in the middle of it, so we can't break it.

What we're actually asking

We're looking for four contractors, not four hundred.

Here's the part most brochures leave out. We're early. Some of what's on these pages is running today and some of it isn't finished. We're not trying to sign a hundred customers this year — we want four, close enough to talk to every couple of weeks, who'll tell us what to build next.

What you get

  • The whole system, set up by hand, by the person who built it
  • Your phone number is our problem, not yours
  • A direct line to us that doesn't go through a ticket queue, because there isn't one
  • Whatever we build next, you get first
  • Founding pricing that doesn't expire when we start charging properly

What we want back

  • The truth about what's missing, and often
  • Twenty minutes on the phone every couple of weeks
  • Permission to watch how you actually use it
  • If it annoys you, we want to hear it the day it annoys you
  • Permission to write up what happened, once it's worked
